These are the T-Mobile smartphones getting Marshmallow first
T-Mobile has released a list of smartphones and tablets that will be first to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates. The list includes devices from HTC, LG, Samsung, and Google — but not Motorola.
According to T-Mobile, the devices in the list below “are currently preparing to deliver a software update.” This means T-Mobile has agreed with the handset’s manufacturer to deliver a Marshmallow update — and (relatively) soon.
Here’s the full list:
- HTC One M8
- HTC One M9
- LG G3
- LG G4
- LG G Stylo
- Google Nexus 5
- Google Nexus 6
- Google Nexus 7
- Google Nexus 9
- Samsung Galaxy Note 4
- Samsung Galaxy Note 5
- Samsung Galaxy Note Edge
- Samsung Galaxy S5
- Samsung Galaxy S6
- Samsung Galaxy S6 edge
- Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S2
If you own one of these devices, you can visit T-Mobile’s update page via the source link below to check on the status of your Marshmallow upgrade. There’s not a lot of information there now unless you own a Nexus, but there will be over the coming weeks and months.
Notable omissions from that list include devices from Motorola, which have been some of the first in the market to get the latest Android updates in recent years. It’s unclear why that is the case, but we expect T-Mobile to work things out with Motorola soon.
