OnePlus has announced that it will begin selling the OnePlus 2 without an invite at midnight on December 5, just in time for the holidays.

No, this isn’t another limited-time promotion; OnePlus is now scrapping its invite system completely for its latest flagship. The Chinese startup will also offer open sales on the new OnePlus X once a week.

“We are always trying to enhance the OnePlus experience for you and taking risks to push ourselves and show real improvements,” writes OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei in a post on the company’s official forum. “That’s why we’re making the OnePlus 2 invite-free … forever!”

At midnight on December 5, the invite system for the OnePlus 2 will be scrapped permanently, allowing fans to purchase the device from the OnePlus online store at any time. If you’ve been thinking about gifting a OnePlus 2 this Christmas, then, now you can.

OnePlus has also confirmed it will hold an open sale on the new OnePlus X from December 5 through December 7. During the same period, it will offer 50 percent off all OnePlus 2 StyleSwap covers, 90 percent off all OnePlus One accessories, and 10 percent off all other accessories.

Going forward, OnePlus will hold an open sale on the OnePlus X every week, so don’t worry if you miss your opportunity this month.
