Galaxy S7 with curved glass back appears in leaked design video
The Galaxy S7’s new design, which takes cues from last year’s Galaxy Note 5, has been revealed early in an apparent leaked design video. The device has a curved glass back, but doesn’t too dissimilar to its predecessor at first glance.
We suspected the Galaxy S7 might be a miniature version of the Galaxy Note 5 when a display panel leaked out earlier this week, and this video appears to confirm that is the case. Aside from the curved glass back, however, very little has changed here.
Recent reports have claimed the Galaxy S7 will look almost identical to the Galaxy S6, with its most significant improvements being internal. The device is expected to pack Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a new 12.2-megapixel camera.
We also expect the Galaxy S7 to have a slightly larger 5.2-inch display, and could bring back expandable storage, which many fans have been calling for. Many rumors also claim it will have a pressure-sensitive display, just like Apple’s latest iPhones.
This video doesn’t reveal a second tray in the side of the device for a microSD card slot. It is possible, however, that both the SIM card and the microSD card slot will share the same tray, so don’t be too disappointed just yet.
This video comes from @OnLeaks, which has been very reliable in the past. There is one thing to bear in mind, though: This could well depict an early prototype of the Galaxy S7, so there’s no guarantee the final design will look like this.
We expect Samsung to make the Galaxy S7 official in March.
