Super curvy Galaxy S7 gets pictured for the first time
Samsung’s new Galaxy S7 has been pictured out in the wild for the first time ahead of its official unveiling later this month. The photo confirms an even curvier glass back, and a new camera sensor that comes with a significantly smaller hump.
You would be forgiven for thinking this was a Galaxy Note 5, because it looks just like one at first glance. But upon closer inspection, you’ll notice its back is not just curved on its sides, but also on its top and bottom edges, too.
Samsung has also made noticeable changes to its camera. The Galaxy S7 is expected to come with a new 12-megapixel sensor that has a larger lens for better photos — especially in low light. That sensor is also said to be slimmer than the 16-megapixel one in the Galaxy S6.
As a result, the camera doesn’t protrude from the Galaxy S7’s case as much as on the Galaxy S6, although it definitely sticks out a little. According to a recent rumor, that hump will be just 0.8mm thick — down from 1.7mm last year.
It might look very similar to the Galaxy S6, then, but the Galaxy S7 will definitely ship with some design changes. It will also be a whole different beast internally, with a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, expandable storage, and a pressure-sensitive display.
