Here’s when your Samsung Galaxy is getting Marshmallow
Samsung’s latest upgrade schedule for Android 6.0 Marshmallow has leaked out again!
This is supposedly the latest version, published internally on February 29, and it tells us when we can expect to see Android 6.0 on the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4, and Galaxy Note Edge, the Galaxy S6 series, the Galaxy S5, and more.
Some of Samsung’s latest devices have already started receiving Android 6.0 and Android 6.0.1, but only in select markets. According to the latest upgrade schedule below, all flagships launched last year — that’s the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 series — will get it this month.
The Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge will then get their upgrades in April, followed by the Galaxy S5 — and presumably other handsets in the Galaxy S5 series — in May. The 8- and 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab S2 tablets will also get Marshmallow in May.
The midrange Galaxy Alpha will be made to wait until June.
It should be noted that we’ve seen a handful of these upgrade schedules, and they’re almost always inaccurate. It’s hard to tell whether Samsung’s just bad at sticking to them, or whether they’re just fakes (that’s very likely), but it’s something to bear in mind.
If you’re Samsung handset doesn’t get Marshmallow when expected, then, don’t be too disappointed. It’s definitely on the way, and with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge out of the gate now, Samsung should have more resources to focus on its upgrades.
