OnePlus One’s Marshmallow update now in final testing phase
While OnePlus has been focused on bringing Marshmallow to its more recent smartphones, owners of the original OnePlus One have felt a little neglected. But the device certainly hasn’t been forgotten about.
According to OnePlus founder Carl Pei, an Android 6.0 update for the One is now in the final testing stage, and it should be available “very soon.”
Pei’s announcement on Twitter comes just one week after OnePlus opened up its Marshmallow beta for the OnePlus 2 to all. There has been no beta for its predecessor, but it seems the wait is almost over for the final release… almost!
Pei does warn that the release date depends on “other parties.”
Marshmallow for the One is in the final testing stage. Can't give ETA as it depends on other parties, but should be very soon.

It’s unclear what those other parties are, since OnePlus One updates don’t need carrier approval; Pei is likely referring to Cyanogen, which still develops the OnePlus One’s Cyanogen OS software while its more recent siblings run OxygenOS.
When it does arrive, you can expect Marshmallow for the OnePlus One to bring Doze, Google Now on Tap, and Android 6.0’s new permissions system. It will also bring lots of OxygenOS features like the new stock launcher.
