Amazon’s super-affordable Fire tablet now has more storage, new colors
Amazon today refreshed its super-affordable Fire tablet lineup, adding a bigger storage option and new colors. Its sturdy Fire Kids Edition tablet has also been graced with more storage, and a new unbreakable case.
Starting at just $49.99, the 7-inch Fire lineup is a perfect first tablet. It’s got everything you need for browsing the web, catching up with your favorite TV shows, and even playing Android games — and now it’s available in a selection of pretty colors.
Alongside the black model we’re already familiar with, Amazon is now offering blue, magenta, and tangerine. Prices start at the same $49.99 for 8GB of storage, but you can now get a 16GB model for just $69.99.
The Fire Kids Edition is also available with 16GB of storage now — and a kid-friendly case that’s bright green — for $119.99.
Amazon hasn’t made any improvements to the insides of these devices with this refresh, so you still get the same 1024×600 display, a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, a 2-megapixel rear-facing camera, and up to 7 hours of battery life.
