First ever Lego RPG is coming to mobile this fall
Gameloft has confirmed it is working on a brand new role-playing game for mobile that’s set in the Lego universe.
Lego Legacy: Heroes Unboxed will make its debut this fall. It’s the first Lego game in the RPG genre, and it promises to be a lot of fun for fans of the Lego franchise and RPG games.
Check out the first teaser trailer right here.
Gameloft first it was working on a new Lego game last December, and promised it would arrive in 2019. But that’s all the French studio had to say about it at the time.
Now we know the name of the game and a little bit about what we can expect from it.
Lego Legacy brings 40 years of minifigs to life
The first ever Lego RPG will feature a huge collection of lovable minifigures from throughout Lego’s 40-year history. You’ll unlock more and more of them as you play the game and use them to form your very own team.
You’ll take your team on adventures around “iconic, fan favorite universes from yesterday and today, recreated with incredible detail to please players of all ages,” Gameloft says. You will also lead your Lego team into battle against other players.
Gameloft has been working closely with the Lego Group for several years on Lego Legacy. It has taken trips to the Lego Vault in Billund, Denmark, where every set and minifig ever created is archived.
“The team has been studying vintage instruction manuals and focusing all its skills to perfectly recreate every tiny detail that makes the LEGO experience so enjoyable and memorable,” it says.
’One of the most beloved brands on Earth’
Lego Legacy promises to be “faithful to the fun and creativity that make the Lego brand one of the most beloved brands on Earth.”
“Lego Legacy: Heroes Unboxed is built to bring the enjoyment and fun that you once had, or still have, with LEGO toys,” said Baudouin Corman, Chief Operating Officer at Gameloft.
“We are excited to see these authentic and original LEGO characters from all eras come to life. We have been putting all our efforts, art and craft into this game as we want to delight all LEGO fans, whether their minifigures are tucked away in the attic or proudly shown in the living room.”
We don’t have an exact release date for Lego Legacy just yet, but Gameloft says it will arrive this fall on Android and iOS. In the meantime, we can look forward to seeing a preview of the game at Brickworld Chicago on June 15 and 16.
