Samsung Galaxy Fold could hit U.S. one week after iPhone 11
The iPhone 11 lineup could face competition from the Galaxy Fold just one week after hitting the market.
Pre-registration for Samsung’s first foldable handset today reopened ahead of a rumored U.S. launch on September 27.
The Galaxy Fold was originally scheduled to make its debut back in April. But big design flaws meant Samsung was forced to return to the drawing board and several make hardware changes.
Five months later, the South Korean company is finally gearing up to deliver. Pre-registration for the Fold today re-opened in the U.S., and one source says it will launch one week after iPhone 11.
Galaxy Fold could land September 27
Samsung has already promised that the Fold will be available in select markets by the end of this month. However, it is yet to provide a more concrete release date.
Now reliable leaker Evan Blass says fans in the U.S. will be able to get their hands on the device on September 27. That’s exactly one week after the iPhone 11 lineup is expected to land.
If you’re interested in picking one up, you can submit your details through Samsung’s website and you’ll be notified as soon as preorders are live … again.
The Fold will be priced at $1,980 in the U.S., and AT&T is now the only carrier supporting it after T-Mobile dropped out last minth.
iPhone 11 will cost less
If your budget won’t quite cover that, or you don’t want to ditch iOS, you’ll be pleased to know the iPhone 11 lineup will cost a lot less.
Prices are likely to start at $999 again for the so-called iPhone 11 Pro, and $1,099 for the so-called iPhone 11 Pro Max — despite some suggestions that Apple will reduce prices this year to boost sales.
The successor to iPhone XR should remain at $749.
