Spectacular Untitled Goose Game could be coming to mobile
The spectacularly pleasant Untitled Goose Game could be on its way to mobile.
Publisher Panic says it is “chewing on” the idea of bringing the phenomenon to Android and iOS. It just expanded its reach to Nintendo Switch and may also come to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Untitled Goose Game is a stealth puzzler in which you play an annoying but adorable goose. You terrorize poor humans as you carry out your missions — and you have a terrific time doing it.
The game landed on Mac, PC and Nintendo Switch at the end of September. It has been lauded by fans and critics, and currently boasts a score of 81/100 on Metacritic.
It would make a lot of sense for House House to bring Untitled Goose Game to other platforms, then. And that’s exactly what it plans to do.
Goose will gaggle onto new platforms
House House told ABC News that it hopes to bring its hit title to PlayStation and Xbox in an effort to reach a wider audience. A release date is yet to be confirmed, but we hope to hear more soon.
And there’s hope for those who don’t own a console, too. An employee for Panic — publisher of Untitled Goose Game — says the company is “chewing on” the idea of a mobile release.
“It’ll take a lot of design work to make a version that works good for touch controls,” tweeted Cabel Sasser. But if House House and Panic can pull it off, a mobile port should be a no-brainer.
Untitled Goose Game rockets to the top
Untitled Goose Game has enjoyed huge success since it launched on September 20, topping Nintendo’s eShop charts in several markets, including the U.S., the U.K., and Australia.
House House won’t confirm exactly how many copies it has sold so far, but it revealed to ABC it is in excess of 100,000. That’s pretty impressive for a game that started out as a joke that went viral.
If you own a Mac, PC or Switch and you haven’t already tried Untitled Goose Game, we highly recommend it.
