At Google I/O this morning the search giant announced that it has 41 new features that are coming to Google+ today, along with a redesigned news stream.

The newly designed stream is aimed to give Google+ users a deeper experience by adding multiple columns of content and ‘smart hashtags’ to connect posts to other Google+ users who aren’t circled.

Today at Google’s I/O conference the company announced that it will release a modified version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 that will come with the stock version of Android 4.3.

The stock Galaxy S4 will come unlocked out of the box so it can be used on any compatible carrier. The phone will have 16GB of storage and work on both AT&T and T-Mobile with LTE support. Google will sell the modified S4 through Google Play for $649 starting on June 26th.

 

HTC-First

Facebook Home hasn’t been doing too hot lately. First there was the news that Facebook Home has been a dud in the Google Play store, and now we’ve just learned that AT&T is already going to discontinue the HTC First.

The HTC First was the first and only smartphone to feature Facebook’s new Home interface baked into the OS. The smartphone just debuted on AT&T last month, but it’s already getting tossed out of stores.

Reports across the net have hit Twitter that Google’s Services are suffering an outage. According to initial reports, web access to Google Drive and Google Docs is down for many users, and Google’s apps Status Dashboard says everything’s totally fine has been updated to show Google Drive is suffering a service disruption.

Despite the web browser outage, Google Drive and Google Docs are still accessible via mobile apps or a direct link, so it appears that outage is only affecting access while data may not have been lost.

 

Update: It looks like Google has resolved the problem.

For the last two years there has been a lot of speculation that Amazon is working on its own smartphone to go head-to-head with Apple and Samsung’s offerings.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the Amazon Kindle Phone is real, and that it might come with a high-tech glasses-free 3D display.
