As an iPhone owner, I’ve been curious about Android Wear, Google’s smartwatch platform, from the get-go. The problem is Android Wear requires an Android smartphone to work, leaving everyone out to dry.

That might be changing though. An independent developer has just released a tantalizing video, showing iOS sending notifications to an Android Wear smart watch.

If you have an iPhone, you’ve probably had the experience of waiting in agonizing anticipation as a friend or loved one takes frickin’ forever to type the next iMessage. And just like a watched pot never boils, an unsent iMessage (…) never seems to get sent… especially when someone has stupidly walked away from their iMessage with text in the field without clicking ‘Send,’

So when Samsung releases an ad, serving up claim chowder to all the journalists like Mashable, Boy Genius Report, and the Wall Street Journal who laughed at the Note three years ago, I have to say, they have it coming to them. They were right!

Check out Samsung’s full ad after the jump, in which Samsung talks a little bit about the many useful things you can do with a larger display.

One of Apple’s most famous patents is slide-to-unlock, a method of waking up a touchscreen smartphone that has proven to be one of the most valuable in Apple’s arsenal. Now, Apple is trying to patent a similar system that would use gestures to unlock an iPhone. And if that sounds familiar, it should, because Android already does it.
