The latest build (KTU84Q) of Google’s recently updated operating system, 4.4.4 KitKat Release 2, is now officially available to download for Nexus 5’s in Australia (Telstra), New Zealand (2Degrees) and India. However, this update doesn’t use Android’s standard over-the-air (OTA) upgrade process. Instead, you will need to download the 4.4.4 factory images and install them on your device via the search engine giants Developer Platform.

It appears that Sony is in a rather playful mood today. Earlier this morning, the Japanese multinational company announced a ‘brand new’ handset in Germany called the Xperia Style. At first, just for a minute, we thought it could possibly be a newborn smartphone, but, in actual fact, it’s the existing Xperia T3 previously unveiled in the U.S. with a new name and model number for the German market.

Fleksy, the award-winning smart keyboard company, announced today that it is in the process of rolling out major updates for both its Android beta and Galaxy Gear applications. The first bundles support for 15 new languages, together with significant accuracy improvements for all supported languages which now exceed 35 in total, and the second includes compatibility for Samsung’s first smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear 1 (formerly known as the Galaxy Gear).

Android-L-keyboard

Are you someone who wanted to put Google’s upcoming operating system through its paces the minute it was announced, but don’t own a Nexus device to install the Developer Preview on? If so, it’s likely that you took to the Play Store to download and install applications that are primarily designed to provide an Android L-like experience on existing versions of the Android operating system.

One of the most popular applications in this category was the unofficial L Keyboard replacement, which came courtesy of Shen Ye, a well recognized developer and producer for XDA Developers TV. The app recently surpassed 800,000 downloads and if you managed to grab yourself a copy, consider yourself lucky. After just two weeks of being live, the application has now been removed from the Play Store.
