Cooling off in a bowl of water.

Compared to the Galaxy S4, Samsung’s latest flagship comes with a number of major improvements — including a water-resistant IP67 form factor, a stellar 16-megapixel camera, great battery life, and a top-notch Super-AMOLED display.

However, the Galaxy S5 is far from perfect, and there are a number of issues that Samsung must improve next year with the Galaxy S6. We’ve compiled a list of the handset’s biggest weaknesses, based not only on our own experiences, but those of the community, too. If Samsung can fix these things next time around, the Galaxy S6 could be every smartphone owner’s dream.

PA_Peek_app

Paranoid Android’s Peek feature might be inspired from the Active Display functionality of the Moto X, but it still manages to be unique in its own way. Back when the feature was released, it was released in an APK form for all other KitKat running Android devices soon after. However, the app was pretty buggy and sparingly worked as well as PA’s Peek.

Now, the original developer of Peek — Jesús David Gulfo — and Francisco Franco have teamed up to release an app that brings the full features of Peek to any Android 4.4 device.

Moto-E-XT1025

If you thought Motorola revolutionised the low-end smartphone market with the Moto G, wait until you get your hands on the Moto E. The company has managed to hit another home run with the Moto E, which is already selling like hot cakes in India and Brazil.

For its price, the Moto E offers much more than what you can expect, and even beats the Galaxy S5 in terms of UI performance. Like any other recent Motorola phone, rooting the Moto E is pretty easy, provided you are ready to unlock the bootloader and void its warranty in the process.

Flyme_OS_Nexus5

The Nexus devices have always been a favorite of the developer community over at XDA, and the Nexus 5 is no exception to this. We have already seen the handset receive a partially working Sense 6.0 port, and now another developer has managed to get Meizu’s MX3 OS — dubbed Flyme OS — up and running on it.

HTC-One-M8-back

Even though the HTC One M8 features the same primary camera as its predecessor, it packs in some nice bokeh and 3D effects thanks to the secondary depth camera. The uFocus effect, in particular, which blurs the background behind a subject to provide a ‘bokeh’ effect works particularly well and is among the most highlighted features of the device.

However, there is a serious flaw with the One M8’s camera that will greatly affect your image quality. Read below to find out about it.
