In their Reddit AMAA, HTC was very transparent about how updates work, why it could not bring Android 4.4 KitKat to the One X/X+ and more. The company also revealed in their AMAA the (very unique) reason as to why it has been delaying the Android 4.3 update for the Sprint EVO 4G LTE, which is essentially a variant of the international One X with a kickstand.

HTC is known to drop software support for their flagship devices within 18 months of their release. Things have changed considerably with the release of the One but it takes more than just a single product to improve your brand’s image in the consumers eye.
