Galaxy S5 Active

According to a new leak from Twitter, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active could be real after all. Carrying the model number SM-G870, this smartphone will reportedly break cover soon. However, with the standard Galaxy S5 already water and dust resistant, how different will this model be?

HTC Sense 6.0

HTC will announce the 2014 HTC One in a few hours from now and has even launched Sense 6.0 applications in anticipation of the smartphone’s arrival. However, older HTC smartphones could soon get a taste of the latest user interface if a new leak is to be believed. It is believed that the 2013 HTC One, the One Max, One Mini as well as the Butterfly S will be beneficiaries of this update.

The report claims that the original HTC One will start getting the Sense 6.0 update starting from May or June, while the One Mini, One Max and the Butterfly S will follow in a couple of months after that.

There’s no word on whether other midrange offerings will receive this UI update at the moment, but the list only mentions the aforementioned devices.

Sense 6.0 will bring quite a lot of changes compared to Sense 5.5 including a newer BlinkFeed homescreen along with better performance and stability. HTC’s 2013 flagships have already received the Android 4.4 update, so compatibility shouldn’t be a concern at all.

BlinkFeed Launcher

HTC has just released BlinkFeed Launcher and the HTC Service pack apps in the Google Play Store. The apps are meant only for Sense 6.0 running devices from the looks of it, which means that it’s incompatible with every handset available in the market today. But a Sense 6.0 update to older HTC devices should bring compatibility with these apps.

ZTE Grand S II

The ZTE Grand S II has just been spotted in an AnTuTu benchmark listing and has surprisingly outperformed the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The smartphone is set for an official launch on April 1, so this is just the marketing boost the company could ask for at this moment.

Sony Xperia Z2

Sony has officially begun the global rollout of the Xperia Z2 smartphone starting with Taiwan, which is one of the few countries to be included in Sony’s initial wave of launch. Other countries of Asia as well as Europe are expected to get the handset in mid-April as originally scheduled.
