AT&T is now rolling out the much awaited Android 4.4.2 update for the Moto X smartphones running on its networks. The new software comes a bit late in the day, even compared to other carrier variants in the U.S., but owners of the handset will be glad it has finally arrived.

A new rumor claims that the Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch could soon receive a refresh in South Korea with cellular connectivity on board. This would make the Gear 2 a standalone smartphone rather than a companion accessory. It is said that local carrier SK Telecom will be the first to bring this modified variant of the Gear 2.

Google has just launched the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 7 tablet in eight new countries of Europe, much to the joy of the fans in the region. Chinese manufacturer Oppo is reportedly looking to launch a ‘mini’ variant of the popular N1 handset, which was well renowned for its rotating camera. This new smartphone will reportedly feature a 5 inch 1080p display in place of the 5.9 inch display, so it’s quite a lot smaller in size, but still nowhere near to being considered a mini device.

HTC One smartphones in Europe are now receiving the much awaited Android 4.4.2 update after the first update was pulled by the manufacturer some weeks ago citing difficulties with the ROM. The change log shows that the update brings support for additional WiFi routers, indicating that the initial rollout had issues with WiFi that needed fixing.
