Galaxy S5 Icons

Earlier this week, a Samsung teaser showed off a bunch of new app icons believed to be from the newest iteration of TouchWiz — set to make its debut alongside the Galaxy S5 later this month. And almost confirming that design change is a new leaked image from China which shows the exact same icons used on a mystery Samsung smartphone.

Xperia SP Android 4.3

While Sony is making inroads in the high-end market with the likes of the Xperia Z1 and the upcoming Xperia Z2, its midrange device lineup isn’t too bad, either. One such midrange device is the Xperia SP, which is a slightly upgraded version of the Xperia S from 2012.

This smartphone is now getting its much-anticipated Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update from Sony carrying the software version 12.1.A.0.266.

MediaTek MT6595

Chinese manufacturer MediaTek is known for its affordable quad-core chipsets that are used in several low cost smartphones around the world. But the company is now looking to make a big entry into the top-end market with the launch of its new MT6595 octa-core chipset.

Samsung Youm

Samsung is known to be working with the YOUM flexible display panels since last year; it’s new Galaxy Round — which made it the world’s first manufacturer of a curved glass smartphone — is evidence of that. And a new report from a Korean analyst claims that Samsung might bring this technology to its mainstream devices like the Note series as soon as this year.

Sprint Logo

Sprint, America’s third-largest carrier, has just announced its Q4 2013 earnings revealing marginal growth thanks to its quickly-expanding 4G LTE networks around the country. The carrier added a total of 682,000 customers during the last three months of 2013 alone.
