What’s better than Amazon’s Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus for a penny deal? Best Buy’s Verizon Galaxy Nexus for free deal! That’s right, the retail chain that constantly calls the Galaxy Nexus the Nexus Prime, is now offering Google’s latest Nexus smartphone for nothing more than your signature on a new 2-year contract (upgrades appear eligible as well).

This next move is likely a direct result of the Samsung Galaxy S III and the tremendous success its been having. The HTC One X is a great device that just happens to be overshadowed by the Galaxy S III and it’s unfortunate, but that’s the way it goes. Dropping the price to $99 (on contract) is a brilliant move that will hopefully breath life back into consumer interest for the One X. I won’t lie, I myself, would choose the Galaxy S III over the One X and I think that’s what AT&T, HTC, and other carriers are noticing.

If you’ve had no luck finding the 16GB Nexus 7 at a local retailer, you’re luck is about to change. The 16GB Nexus 7 is back “in stock” on Google Play and this time we’re guessing Google is prepared to meet demand. I’d personally go with the 16GB model (and did) as my experience with the 8GB version of the Galaxy Tab 2 didn’t bode too well. The 16GB version will cost you an additional $49, but at $249 for a quad-core, Jelly Bean toting tablet, you can’t go wrong.

Our Google Nexus 7 giveaway has been closed for about a week now and I’m betting you’re all anxious to know who won. I wish I could give everyone who entered a brand spanking new Nexus 7, but unfortunately we only have one to give away (and it’s not the one in this video). So without further ado, here is the winner of our Google Nexus 7 giveaway:

If you’re the proud owner of a WiFi Motorola XOOM, your loyalty is about to pay off. Unlike the Verizon Galaxy Nexus, you’re XOOM is about to get Jelly Bean, as a significant amount of users are starting to see the update. The update will bring your early settler to Android 4.1.1 and bring all the buttery smoothness with it.
