Verizon’s Q2 earnings call took place today, and while the gist of the call went something like “we’re making tons of money, money money,” there were a few interested bullet point in regards to Android and smartphones in general.

If you happen to be a member of BJ’s wholesale club, you’ll be happy to hear they have a one-day sale going on for the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T, as well as the Keyboard Dock accessory. If you act fast, you can pick up the TF300T for $369.99 and the dock for $109.99. That’s around a $30 savings individually, $60 savings if you grab both. That’s one of the lowest brand new retail prices I’ve found, and not that bad of a deal considering the TF300T features:

I know what you’re thinking, and we’re thinking it too: “why?” Why is Sony even bothering with an Android Walkman when just about every Android smartphone has more than enough storage and the same functionality? My first answer was “because not all parents want to buy their kids a smartphone.” Then I realized you can pick up a used Android smartphone on Ebay or Swappa for dirt cheap and basically use it as an MP3 player (my daughter is using my old OG DROID in the same manner). So why, why bother with this Sony? We can’t answer that, but what we can do, is tell you what Sony has planned for its Ice Cream Sandwich powered F800 model Walkman.

I bet you didn’t consider this feature when deciding between an iPhone 4S and an Android device such as the Galaxy S III. The company behind the radiation measurement app Tawkon has released a semi-disturbing infograph (which can be found at the bottom of this post) detailing the SAR (a measure of the rate at which energy is absorbed by the body when exposed to a radio frequency(RF) electromagnetic field) score of various popular smartphones.

The Nexus 7 situation has admittedly been a frustrating one. While some people have already received their brand new Jelly Bean tablet, others are left wondering if or when theirs will arrive. Google has definitely been feeling the heat from upset customers and has issued an update for those of you who ordered your Nexus 7 on or before July 13. While this information won’t get the Nexus 7 in your hands any quicker, at least it can shed some light on when you can expect it to arrive.
