Alcatel Onetouch today made a few announcements ahead of CES 2015 next week, and by far its most exciting is for the WATCH, a brand new smartwatch that looks downright gorgeous. The device is clearly inspired by the Moto 360 — arguably the finest wearable so far — but it does have one big drawback… or at least it would seem so.

Still waiting for Android 5.0 to come to your device? You don’t need it to enjoy Smart Lock, one of Lollipop’s best new security features, thanks to a new third-party app called Smart Unlock that delivers the same functionality.

Compatible with any device running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and above, the $0.99 download automatically disables your lock screen security when a trusted wearable is nearby. What’s more, Smart Unlock has an advantage over Google’s own Smart Lock feature by allowing you to add trusted Wi-Fi networks, too.

Pebble today announced the v2.3 update of its Android app with many new features, including support for actionable Android Wear notifications. This will allow Pebble users to reply to or dismiss a message right from the watch itself.

Motorola is today rolling out the latest Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update for the Moto 360. This is the major Android Wear update Google announced last week, which brings support for the company’s new watch face API, improved quick settings options, and a number of new features.
