Given that Android Wear watches are essentially just tiny Android devices, they’re capable of running regular Android apps. But side-loading them can be a tricky process if you’re not familiar with ADB. Fortunately, there’s now a tool that makes the whole process super simple for all.

At this point we already know that Android Wear watches will run regular Android apps with a bit of simple side-loading — and we’ve already seen devices like the Samsung Gear Live running Game Boy emulators, games like Minecraftand even Windows 95. ZenWatch, the first Android Wear smartwatch from Asus, will go on sale in the U.S. this weekend, priced at $199. The device will be available initially from Best Buy, and then through Google Play.

You’ll soon be able to control your Sonos devices from your wrist, thanks to a new Sonos app coming to Android Wear. The app, which is currently in beta testing with a select few users, will also show you which track is currently being streamed around your home.

By far the biggest downside of the modern smartwatch is their lousy battery life. If you’re lucky, you’ll get around two days of use in between charges from an Android Wear device, but the vast majority require top-ups every night. There is one, however, that promises to last a week, thanks to its clever use of not one but two displays.
