Talk-to-the-Hand-gloves

British carrier O2, together with artist Sean Miles, has created a pair of “Talk to the Hand” gloves that allow you to take phone calls using your thumb and pinky. They look just like regular gloves, only that have recycled cellphone parts built into them so that they can double as a Bluetooth headset.

An unidentified Samsung phone with the model number SCH-434 passed its Bluetooth SIG test this week, more than likely on its way to Verizon. All of Verizon’s Samsung device model numbers have started with SCH, we have also established that the device is on its way to North America. But what is this device?

Could it possibly be the much-anticipated Galaxy S4 Mini?

I never make snarky remarks about gadget’s name (well, almost never). It’s tough enough being a marketing guru — what with the treacherous task of having to choose font colors for product brochures or painstakingly constructing diabolical puzzles that keep the purchaser occupied for hours as he tries desperately to separate the gadget from its box — without some jerkwad tech blogger jeering at you.

But if there were a product I’d wince at and say “really?” when I looked at the name, it’d probably be the MobiAria (but I won’t. I won’t!)

Back in April, Samsung announced two new super-sized smartphones called the Galaxy Mega — one of which had a 5.8-inch display, the other a 6.3-inch display. Following the announcement, fans suggested that the devices were far too big to be used as every day smartphones, and there was some speculation about whether Samsung would actually launch them.

We’re still yet to see them, but it appears one just passed through the Bluetooth SIG on its way to market.

Google has recently entered its Nexus 7 device into the Bluetooth SIG test… again. This is really strange as the Nexus 7 has been out for just less than a year now, so why would it need to be put through its paces again, in terms of Bluetooth? Could this be the first sign of Android 4.3 coming to the Nexus 7?
