Xperia-ZL-US

The unlocked Sony Xperia ZL is heading to the United States after being listed on the official Sony Store. The device will be available in three colors — black, red, and white — but Sony hasn’t yet confirmed its price or its release date. It’s thought, however, that the handset will be available “within the next month.”

mwc2013bug-coaBARCELONA, MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS — Sony’s initial unveiling of the Xperia Tablet Z came just after CES back in January, so Mobile World Congress here in Barcelona this week is the first chance we’ve had to get our hands on it. On paper, the device is very impressive, featuring a speedy quad-core processor, a high-resolution display, and a sleek form factor that measures just 6.9mm thick and boasts water resistance.

But specifications aren’t everything; we were itching to find out what the Xperia Tablet Z is like, so we went hands on with it this morning to find out.

ZTE has teamed up with NVIDIA to deliver the world’s first “superphone” powered by a Tegra 4 processor. The company hasn’t revealed much about the handset yet, but we do know it’ll have 4G LTE connectivity, and that it will make its debut in China this summer.

Asus-MeMO-Pad-Smart

Following its unveiling of the 7-inch MeMO Pad just after CES, Asus has today announced its bigger brother, the 10-inch MeMO Pad Smart ME301T, at the Thailand Mobile Expo. The device measures just 9mm thick, and like its sibling, its focus is on being affordable — but it has some nice specifications under the hood.

Some companies have started shunning trade shows like the Consumer Electronics Show and Mobile World Congress when it comes to announcing their next big thing. Samsung’s biggest Galaxy devices, for example, now get their own press events. But it seems LG isn’t one of them.

The company has released a new video teasing a “breakthrough” at MWC later this month, sparking speculation it has something special up its sleeve.
