Sony-Xperia-Z1-Compact

CoA-CES-2014Sony this week announced the latest addition to its Xperia lineup at CES in Las Vegas, and it’s sure to please those who like high-end smartphones in pocketable packages. It’s essentially an Xperia Z1 that’s been shrunk down slightly; it has all of the Z1’s premium specifications coupled with a smaller 4.3-inch display, and it’s called the Xperia Z1 Compact.

CoA-CES-2014 Pebble is holding a press event in Las Vegas now, however, unlike LG’s and AT&T’s conferences, reporters at the Consumer Electronics Show will not be allowed to attend this event. Instead, it will be broadcast live on the Internet for all to see and enjoy.

In the midst of its press conference ahead of CES in Las Vegas, this morning, LG let slip that its first curved flexible smartphone, the G Flex, will indeed be coming to AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile during Q1 of 2014, thus confirming weeks of leaks, rumors and speculation.

Alcatel One Touch has today announced a trio of affordable Android-powered devices; one smartphone and two ultra-portable tablets. The Idol X+ is the company’s latest mid-range smartphone, with a design not dissimilar to previous Idol devices. Whilst both the Pop 7 and Pop 8 tablets are aimed at the lower end of the market.

Qualcomm is celebrating this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas by knocking $50 off its Android-comptible Toq smartwatch. For this week only, the device will sell for $299.99 as opposed to $349.99, and you can buy it directly from Qualcomm or through Amazon.
