LG’s new G Watch goes on sale around the world today, and already the device has been given its customary teardown from the repair experts at iFixit. Despite its size, the new Android Wear smartwatch is surprisingly easy to get into, and even easier to repair — earning a repairability score of 9 out of 10.

Earlier today, Google unveiled a new flavour of Android specifically meant for smartwatches, dubbed as Android Wear. The company also announced two new Android Wear running smartwatches — the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live.

A decent smartwatch isn’t cheap, but the upcoming G Watch from LG — one of the first wearables to be powered by Android Wear — could be significantly cheaper than you were expecting. According to one report, the device will available in Europe on July 7, and it’ll cost less than the entry-level Galaxy Gear 2 Neo and the Pebble Steel.

Google appears to be gearing up to change its Android logo almost six years after the platform’s inception. A new logo has appeared in a 17-second video that allegedly shows off the boot animation for LG’s upcoming G Watch that will be powered by Android Wear.

I couldn’t be more excited for the Android Wear platform, and indeed one of its first supporters, the G Watch from LG. Both of which look ready to revolutionize the smartwatch, which, until now, has been somewhat lacking and in dire need of improvement.

To remind us that the G Watch is well on its way, LG today released a new one-minute teaser trailer, which makes the wearable’s impressive feature-set its focus.
