LG-G2-official

As I’m sure you’re already aware by now, LG announced its flagship G2 at an event in New York on Wednesday, and in addition a plethora of high-end specifications that’ll make your mouth water, it’s also packed full of software features. LG is clearly hoping to compete with the Galaxy S4 in this department, but not everybody likes that.

Some people like pure, unadulterated Android — and that’s exactly what Google Play Edition devices are for; they combine the latest hardware from third-party manufacturers with stock Android, as Google intended it. Unfortunately, it doesn’t like like the G2 will be competing with the HTC One and the Galaxy S4 in that arena.

Following the grand unveiling of the LG G2 on Wednesday, LG has uploaded a series of videos to its official YouTube channel to showcase the handset’s design and features. There are eight altogether; one features the G2’s clever rear key, while other show off software features like Plug & Pop, Audio Zooming, and the Camera app.

We may have already seen the LG G2’s official press shots, but at an event in New York City this morning, the flagship handset just got its official unveiling. As expected, the device offers a 5.2-inch 1080p display, which is coupled by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera.

LG calls the G2 the “most ambitious phone in its smartphone history,” but does it have what it takes to compete with the Galaxy S4, the HTC One, and other high-end Android handsets?

LG will announce its new flagship G2 at an event in New York City later today, but the handset’s official press images have already been leaked. And they may look very familiar to you. If you take away the LG logo that sits under the display and add a physical home button instead, you’d have what looks almost exactly like a Samsung Galaxy S4.

We’ve been eagerly anticipating the first flagship smartphone with a built-in fingerprint scanner. Some reports have suggested that would be the iPhone 5S this fall, while others believed LG’s upcoming G2 might narrowly beat Apple to it. But it appears Pantech has beaten them to the punch.

The South Korean company has just announced the Pantech Vega LTE-A, which boasts high-end specifications inside a pretty attractive package. Not only is it one of the few high-end devices compatible with Korea’s new LTE-Advanced networks, but it’s also the only one with a fingerprint scanner on its back.
