LG-G2

AT&T is currently pushing out a relatively minor over-the-air stability update to all its carrier-branded LG G2 handsets located in the United States. Sadly, this upgrade doesn’t bring any major software modifications, such as Android 4.4.2, but it does include ‘FOTA enhancement to support future updates’, in addition to several Google optimizations which we assume will help to pave the way for the much anticipated chunky KitKat update.

LG has already confirmed that its new G Pro 2 will be making its debut at Mobile World Congress later this month, but it seems it cannot help but spill the beans of some of its new features beforehand.

On its official LG Social website, the Korean company has confirmed that its new phablet will boast a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera that’s capable of shooting Ultra HD 4K video.

The South Korean government has ruled that smartphone users must be allowed to remove Android bloatware pre-installed by carriers and handset makers.

Korea’s Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning (MISP) said that these apps are an “inconvenience” to smartphone users, and it has given the likes of Samsung and LG until April to make changes to their software before the new rules are implemented.

Yesterday, AT&T suspended its upfront payments until January 31, on two smartphones, the LG G2 and the Motorola Moto X, when taken out on any new two-year contract, effectively shaving a whopping $100 off the usual price for 14 days.

LG’s gold G2 handset, which was listed by a Taiwanese retailer earlier this week, will go on sale in Singapore this month, the company has confirmed. The limited edition handset has been made to commemorate the Lunar New Year, and there’s a fancy new red model to go along with it.
