HTC has finally announced the One max, its new flagship phablet that hopes to compete with the Galaxy Note 3 and other super-sized smartphones. As expected, the device boasts a 5.9-inch 1080p display, a speedy Snapdragon 600 processor, and a fingerprint scanner.

When you flash a custom ROM to your Samsung smartphone, a flash counter is triggered that lets Samsung know you’ve tampered with it, and how many ROMs have been installed; it helps the company determine whether or not it should honor your warranty if you have issues with your device.

Fortunately for us, we’ve always been able to reset those counters to hide out tweaking secret — but that’s not the case with the new Galaxy Note 3.

Vodafone U.K. has today announced that its new 4G LTE network will be available in Liverpool, Glasgow, and Manchester by the end of this month. It’s been just seven weeks since the service took off, and Vodafone says that more than 100,000 people have already signed up to a new 4G plan.

Samsung has today announced its much-anticipated Galaxy Round, its first smartphone with a curved OLED display. The handset is almost identical to the recently-released Galaxy Note 3 in every way, which means it has a 5.7-inch 1080p display, a 2.3GHz quad-core processor, and 3GB of RAM. The difference is it’s slightly curved.

HTC has today begun issuing invitations to a number of launch events for its new One Max phablet. The first will be held in Hong Kong on Wednesday, October 16 — while another will take place two days later in HTC’s homeland of Taiwan.
