The Galaxy Note II “Developer Edition” for Verizon Wireless has appeared on Samsung’s website this morning. Like the Korean company’s other Developer Edition handsets, such as the Galaxy S III, this one comes with a bootloader that will be simple to unlock — unlike the regular Galaxy Note II. Unfortunately, it still has that nasty Verizon logo on its home button.

If you’ve been itching to get your hands on an Android “phablet” with a large display, but you don’t like the look of the hefty price tags demanded by handsets like the Samsung Galaxy Note II, then ZTE may have something special up its sleeve for you. The U887 is a new smartphone that’s been leaked by China’s TENAA, and according to reports, it’s hoping to give budget-minded Android users the chance to own a larger smartphone without paying larger prices.

Samsung has vowed to patch a major vulnerability discovered in its Exynos kernel that could allow certain Android devices to be wiped or bricked by a malicious application. The flaw was discovered earlier this week, and the Korean company promises to release a software update to address it “as quickly as possible.”

Samsung doesn’t just offer a large range of Android-powered smartphones and tablets, but it also offers them in all kinds of fancy colors. Rumor has it the Korean electronics giant is looking to give its Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 a lick of red paint just in time for Valentine’s Day.

One of the standout features of the Galaxy Note II happens to be its Multi Window view. Unfortunately, not every Note II model currently has this feature available to it. T-Mobile has been dragging its feet with the update but will finally push it out to users come this Wednesday December 19th.
