Now that Samsung’s Galaxy S4 launch is out of the way, phablet fans can look forward to the next-generation Galaxy Note. Speculation surrounding the device and its features has been rife in recent months, and that’s only going to increase as we near closer to the handset’s launch.

Especially when we see purported benchmarks of the device popping up online.

LG could be one of the first smartphone manufacturers to embrace flexible displays. The company’s vice president of mobile, Yoon Bu-hyun, has confirmed that it will launch a new handset with a flexible OLED display sometime during the fourth quarter of this year.

Samsung is hoping to break its previous sales records and ship a whopping 500 million smartphones during 2013, according to sources in the Korean company’s supply chain, who have been speaking to DigiTimes.

One display manufacturer in China is said to be shipping approximately 10 million panels per month for Samsung’s entry-level and midrange devices.

Later this year, Samsung will unveil its third-generation Galaxy Note, and there has been a lot of speculation regarding its hardware — as you might expect for such a popular device. According to the Korean news site Asiae, the Galaxy Note III will feature a flexible AMOLED display that’s completely unbreakable.

The Galaxy Note II’s 5.5-inch display makes it one of the biggest smartphones on the market, but it’s still a pocketable device that can be used comfortably all day every day. Samsung could be planning to make it even bigger next time around, however. According to a source in the company’s supply chain, the Galaxy Note III will have a larger 5.9-inch display with a full 1080p resolution.
