Samsung has reportedly begun preparing its Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates for the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S III, and Galaxy Note II. All three are expected to make their way into public hands before the end of the year, but the Galaxy S4 update is likely to arrive first with a rumored October release date.

Samsung’s Galaxy Gear smartwatch went on sale in Europe this week, but if you want to buy one, you’ll need a Galaxy Note 3 or the latest Galaxy Tab 10.1 to go with it, because they’re the only devices that currently support it. But you may not be surprised to hear that Samsung’s working hard to bring Galaxy Gear support to its latest flagship, too.

One company executive has revealed that the Galaxy S4 will be updated to support Galaxy Gear in October.

Samsung has today released a new My Galaxy app for users in the United Kingdom, which promises to help you “get the most out of your Samsung Galaxy.” The app helps you find accessories for your Samsung smartphone, get support for services and features, and access exclusive offers only available to Samsung Galaxy users.

If you’re hoping to pick up one of Apple’s new iPhones next Friday, but you need a little cash to put towards it, then it might be worth heading down to your local Walmart with your old smartphone. The retailer is set to launch its own smartphone trade-in program, which will give you between $50 and $300 when you hand over your old device and sign into a new plan.

I just finished writing about how expensive the Galaxy Gear will be when it launches in the U.K. later this month, but Samsung’s new high-security Galaxy S III, which is now available in Germany, makes its Android-powered smartwatch look like something from a bargain bin.

The device will cost €1,700 ($2,243) with a two-year contract.
