There won’t be a shortage of smartphone unveilings at Mobile World Congress in early March, but you can cross LG’s new G4 off your wishlist right away. A company executive has confirmed that the device will not be unveiled at the event, but sources familiar with Samsung’s plans say we will get the Galaxy S6 instead.

Samsung’s flagship Galaxy devices come with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon chips every year, but the chip maker’s newest offering not be good enough for the Galaxy S6. Sources familiar with Samsung’s plans say that due to overheating issues with the Snapdragon 810, Samsung will use its own Exynos processors instead for this device.

Samsung is looking to deliver a more fluid software experience with the Galaxy S6 having finally listened to our complaints about TouchWiz. One of the ways in which it will do that is with a more streamlined operating system, but sources say the South Korean company is also going to max out the handset’s specifications as well just to be sure.

Wave goodbye to your removable batteries, Galaxy S fans, because it looks like Samsung could be ditching them for this year’s flagship. Sources say that the upcoming Galaxy S6 will have a high-end glass back panel similar to that of earlier iPhones or Sony’s Xperia Z devices, and you won’t be able to pull it off yourself.

Samsung’s fingerprint scanners could be some of the worst available in today’s mobile devices; they’re so unreliable that most people don’t even bother with them. But sources familiar with the company’s plans say it is working to change that for the upcoming Galaxy S6.

How? By copying Apple, of course.
