Google will wait until July to unvel its new Nexus 8 tablet with Android 4.5, rather than using the Google I/O event in June to make new product announcements, an inside source claims. The new tablet is expected to become Google’s main focus for Android 4.5, while the smaller Nexus 7 will apparently be killed off entirely.

Google officially announced that some of its Google Now features will be making their way to its desktop client as well as its mobile search applications, back in May at its I/O event.

Over the next few days, Google will be rolling out travel information, reservations, calendar events and much, much more through Google Search.

After Google announced Hangouts at Google I/O back in June, we suspected that Google+ Messenger’s days were numbered — and we were right. In a new Google+ update rolling out now on Android, Google is killing Google+ Messenger for good, while the iOS version will get the chop at a later date.

At its Android event in San Francisco this morning, Google just announced Google Play Games, a new social gaming app that will go head to head with Apple’s Game Center. The app brings all of your achievements, social connections, and public leaderboards together in one place.

HTC finally rolled out the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean release to the HTC One over the weekend, but it appears the Taiwanese company has also been hard at work on Android 4.3. An HTC One Google Edition with Android 4.3 installed has just passed by the Bluetooth SIG.
