Google TV is everywhere this year at CES, and while I prefer having it integrated into my TV, there are still a number of viable set-top box options, including the VIZIO VAP430 stream player. Announced today by VIZIO and Google, the VAP430 uses WiFi and HDMI to connect your TV to a number of services, including Google TV.


At LG’s press event today, LG announced its new lineup of Smart TVs featuring Google TV. Not much was detailed about the LMG860 and LMG620, but both will feature Google TV integration as well as LG’s own Smart TV setup. Just as I predicted, more native integration of Google TV, and I couldn’t be happier. I can’t wait until it almost becomes standard to have a TV with GTV, but until then, let’s just enjoy what CES has to offer. Alongside their Smart TV announcement, came the announcement of their newest 4.5″ True HD IPS display smartphone, the LG Spectrum.


Google has officially dropped x86 and is planning for the next generation of Google TV hardware to be ARM based. Partnering up with Marvell, Google’s next gen GTV will feature a low cost, energy efficient yet powerful, Marvell ARMADA 1500 HD Media SoC. This really is good news for Google TV and will hopefully bring a breath of fresh air to the otherwise dismal platform.


Ever wish you could relive that Rolling Stone’s concert you barely remember? Maybe you’d like to enjoy an intimate concert for two in the comfort of your living room. Well now you can, thanks to a little app called Qello. Qello provides on-demand, high quality streamed HD concerts to a multitude of platforms. The app was previously available for Android tablets and phones, but has now made its way to your big screen via Google TV support. The Qello app for Google TV is now available in the Android Market and gives you all the benefits and features of the Qello service, streamed to your TV.


If you’ve ever wished you could use Apple’s Airplay functionality with your Google TV, then today is your lucky day. Developer Yossie has managed to piece together a semi-functional app called Airtight. Airtight works much like Airplay (minus the actual “works” part) by allowing you to stream videos and pictures from your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch directly to your TV.
