One-M8-back

When HTC launched its flagship smartphone of 2014 just three weeks ago, it awarded customers a handful of promotional goodies to get them started — this is called the HTC Advantage campaign. As part of the program, anyone who purchases a handset automatically receives 50GB of free Google Drive storage, however, this doesn’t appear to be the case for AT&T customers.

The HTC One is already available on all the major carriers in the United States in a trio of colors: Gunmetal Grey, Glacial Silver and Amber Gold. Now, it looks like HTC is all set to release a red color variant of the One (M8) as well, as indicated by this tweet from @evleaks.

Carriers in the United States are pretty strict about users turning their mobile devices into Wi-Fi hotspots. They go that extra step to block such traffic, forcing users to pay for a tethering plan if they want to share their mobile device’s data.

The new HTC One (M8) is no exception to this rule. However, users can gain the ability to tether their handsets — without racking up additional charges — by simply editing a system file. Read the steps below to find out how.

HTC’s Dot View case for the One (M8) is pretty unique. The case contains a lot of tiny holes in the front that allows users to view limited information by simply double tapping on the front. This includes the weather, missed calls, time and any incoming messages.

Now, Shen Ye, known for his closeness with HTC, has managed to hack the Dot View case app to allow it to display more notifications when using the case.

HTC Software Update

HTC recently started a website which would let users know when the Android 4.4 update for their smartphone is ready. This page has now transitioned into a dedicated Sense 6.0 update page allowing users to keep track of the status of the UI update for their 2013 HTC One series handset which includes the One Max as well as the One Mini.
