HTC hasn’t actually confirmed the One Google Edition yet, but if recent rumors are to be believed, it‘s just a matter of time. Getting your hands on one when they finally do arrive, however, could be a little difficult.

According to “sources familiar with the matter,” supplies of the HTC One Google Edition will be extremely limited, and those who want one could be waiting a long time.

HTC’s latest flagship phone, the HTC One, has proven to be a big success so far, with 5 million units sold since it launched back in March. However, some way that the HTC One could have done better if it had support for a microSD card.

Now HTC has explained the reason behind its decision to leave microSD card slots out of its U.S. and U.K. versions of the HTC One.

HTC has kindly provided fans with a new batch of high-resolution wallpapers that’ll give your smartphone a fresh splash of color. There are six in total, including street lights in Taipei, vibrant seashells, and pretty cakes.

HTC has denied that it is working on a “Google Edition” HTC One with stock Android, but it seems the Taiwanese company may have simply been trying to cover it up.

Earlier this week, one source claimed such a device is in the works, and now the same claim — this time from multiple different sources — has started circulating again. According to the latest rumor, an HTC One with stock Android will be announced within the next two weeks.

An HTC executive has confirmed to The Wall Street Journal that the company has sold 5 million HTC One handsets since the device went on sale back in March. That’s not quite the same level of demand Samsung has seen for the Galaxy S4, but it’s still a very good number.

Furthermore, the unnamed executive says demand is still so strong that it is struggling to keep up with orders.
