After months of speculation and many, many leaks, today finally saw the official unveiling of the new HTC One M8. It looks a lot like its predecessor at first glance, but the new flagships sports a much-improved aluminum form factor, and all new internals.

In addition to its larger 5-inch display, the new HTC One M8 features Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 801 processor, dual rear-facing cameras, and HTC’s latest Sense 6 user interface.

We’re now less than 30 minutes away from the much-anticipated unveiling of the All New HTC One, and if you want to stay on top of the news as it breaks, remember you can follow the entire event with HTC’s live-stream.

HTC Sense 6.0

HTC will announce the 2014 HTC One in a few hours from now and has even launched Sense 6.0 applications in anticipation of the smartphone’s arrival. However, older HTC smartphones could soon get a taste of the latest user interface if a new leak is to be believed. It is believed that the 2013 HTC One, the One Max, One Mini as well as the Butterfly S will be beneficiaries of this update.

The report claims that the original HTC One will start getting the Sense 6.0 update starting from May or June, while the One Mini, One Max and the Butterfly S will follow in a couple of months after that.

There’s no word on whether other midrange offerings will receive this UI update at the moment, but the list only mentions the aforementioned devices.

Sense 6.0 will bring quite a lot of changes compared to Sense 5.5 including a newer BlinkFeed homescreen along with better performance and stability. HTC’s 2013 flagships have already received the Android 4.4 update, so compatibility shouldn’t be a concern at all.

HTC is currently rolling out the much-anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat over-the-air (OTA) update to all unlocked models of its flagship phablet, the One Max, in Europe. In terms of functionality, the upgrade brings Android 4.4.2 KitKat and Sense 5.5 to the device, complete with the usual plethora of bug fixes, speed optimizations and stability improvements that we’ve grown to expect from any major software update.
