HTC-One-M8-Google-Play-Edition

Google has started rolling out the Android 4.4.4 update for the Google Play edition HTC One M8, M7 and the Moto G. The company had initially rolled out the update to the Nexus 5 and other Nexus devices a couple of weeks ago, mainly to fix a serious bug related to an OpenSSL vulnerability.

Following its introduction on the Moto E  last month, Motorola has today expanded compatibility of its official Alert application to two more variants of its Android-powered smartphones — the Moto X and Moto G. For those unaware, Moto Alert is a traditional emergency tracker that, simply, ‘alert’s people important to you when you need them.’

The best thing about the Motorola Moto G is that it’s terrific value for money. For less than $200, you get a device with a snappy quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 720p display, and a capable 5-megapixel camera. But if you give it a Kevlar backplate and slap a few Ferrari logos on it, that price tag quickly inflates.

The new Ferrari Edition Moto G is almost double the price of the original, and yet internally it’s exactly the same.

Following the announcement of its latest budget friendly Android-powered smartphone earlier today, Motorola just pushed a new, exclusive application to the Play Store called Moto Alert, which is described as an emergency tracker that ‘alert’s people important to you when you need them.’

Motorola is continuing its assault against lackluster affordable phones by making improvements to an existing device and introducing a new one. In addition to adding LTE connectivity to the incredibly popular Moto G, the company today announced the Moto E, an even cheaper handset that boasts some of the Moto lineup’s best features.
