The Moto G is one of the most impressive Android-powered smartphones on the market. It’s cheap, feature-packed as well as pleasing to the eye, but something it lacks is LTE compatibility — which is rather disappointing. However, it looks like that’s about to change. A recent online listing reveals that Motorola is in the process of manufacturing another variant of its reasonably-priced handset which is capable of handling universal LTE bands which you can preorder starting today for just $219.

After disrupting the market with the Moto G and Moto X last year, Motorola is all set to announce its first smartphone this year. The company has sent out invites for an event to be held on May 13th in London.

Don’t get all excited about a Moto X successor though. The invite image states that the smartphone is “made to last” and “priced for all” — a clear indication that it is going to be a low-end handset.

The upcoming OnePlus One has been upgraded ahead of its release with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 801 processor.

The handset was to launch with its predecessor, the Snapdragon 800, but it’ll now boast the same CPU that powers the Samsung Galaxy S5, the Sony Xperia Z2, and the All New HTC One.

Motorola is currently in the process of pushing out a largely-requested update via Google Play for the official Moto X, Moto G, Droid Maxx, Droid Ultra and Droid Mini camera applications. This upgrade brings users the ability to take photos by simply pressing the built-in hardware volume rocker, in addition to a handful of speed enhancements and bug fixes.

Following rumors dating back as far as December 2013 professing that Republic Wireless would soon be offering Motorola’s scaled-down variant of its flagship smartphone, the Moto G, for just $149.99 on a $5 per month tariff, the operator has today announced that it will, indeed, be doing just that, starting next month.
