The Google-owned company is selling the 16GB version of the smartphone for $199 in the U.S. off contract, but have you ever wondered how much the handset costs Motorola to build? The Moto G has revolutionised the lower-end smartphone market. The handset packs in such a brilliant package of specs and software that it manages to make the Nexus 5 from Google look somewhat overpriced.

Unlike the Moto X, the Moto G comes with a bootloader that can be easily unlocked, making the process of rooting the handset relatively easy.

As from today, Motorola’s first budget-friendly Moto X variant, the Moto G, is available to pre-order on Amazon. The handset will ship on Friday, December 6, so you will definitely have it in time for Christmas. Pricing is exactly the same as it is from Motorola itself — $179 for the 8GB model and $199 for the 16GB.

It was only just a few days ago that Motorola announced it would be offering a range of new cases for its already ultra-customizable Moto G smartphone, and now the hardshell cases and flip covers are available to purchase on the OEM’s website, with an estimated shipping date of this coming Monday, December 2. The shells are currently retailing at $14.99, whereas, the covers are on sale for the slightly higher, yet still affordable, price of $29.99.

HTC really nailed it when it designed the flagship HTC One, and because the device has received so much praise, the Taiwanese company has followed it up with a whole host of alternatives in different sizes that carry the same look. The Desire 700 is the latest, but it’s vastly different from the rest.

It looks just like the One, but it’s made of plastic, not aluminum. It also has entry-level specifications coupled with a price tag that’ll make your eyes water.
