It may not be as pretty as this year’s Moto X, but Motorola’s new DROID Turbo is far more impressive under the hood. It’s packing Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 805 processor, a super sharp Quad HD display, and a massive 3,900mAh battery that promises up to 48 hours of life in between charges.

And when you do get low on juice, a 15-minute charge will keep you going for 8 hours, thanks to Turbo Charging.

Motorola understands that Android users like to know when their next update is coming — particularly if it’s a big one — so the company has erected a new webpage that allows customers to track their Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade to release. The tracker covers all handsets from the Droid Maxx and Droid Mini to the latest Moto X and Moto G.

Motorola’s smartphones are praised for having near pure Android firmware, but the company has a habit of putting carrier names in the status bar by default. And for the vast majority, it’s nothing but annoying — after all, it’s not like you’re going to forget which carrier you’re with, right?

Fortunately, it’s super simple to hide it, and you won’t even need root access. Here’s what you need to do.

Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP), one of the most popular custom recoveries, is now available on Motorola’s new Moto X, giving users the ability to install custom ROMs and tweaks. Not every Moto X handset will be able to take advantage of it, though.
