Motorola has revealed to The Verge that the unlocked and unbranded version of the new Moto X will be known as the Moto X Pure Edition when it goes on sale later this month.

Motorola has confirmed that the new Moto X will not be available as a Developer Edition device on Verizon this time around. A GSM version is still expected for those on AT&T and T-Mobile, but those with a need for a CDMA version are out of luck.

Motorola has just kicked off its ‘Trade In’ program which encourages customers to send in their old smartphone and receive up to $300 on a Visa Prepaid Card when they purchase either the brand new Moto X or Moto G.

Alongside the new Moto X, Motorola today announced a successor to its hugely successful midrange Moto G. It delivers a bigger display, a faster processor, and a better camera — all while remaining as affordable as the original.
