In just a couple of days from now, Motorola will be unveiling the successor to the Moto X, which was widely regarded by many as one of the best phones to launch last year.

Even though the original Moto X did not sport beastly specs or a great camera, it provided quite a lot of unique features which greatly enhanced its usability.

We’re almost certain that Motorola will announce its second-generation Moto G at a press event in Chicago this Thursday, and a new leak that shows its retail packaging out in the wild suggests a launch is right around the corner. Like the second-generation Moto X, however, it appears the handset’s new name may simply be “the new Moto G.”

The rumored name tag for Motorola’s second-generation Moto X may not be “Moto X+1,” after all, a new Verizon leak suggests. An image of the carrier’s internal database indicates the device will actually be named “the new Moto X,” and just like its predecessor, it will be customizable through Moto Maker.
