Motorola’s custom Gallery application, which ships as standard on the Google-owned company’s Moto X, Moto G and Droid range of smartphones, is the latest in a long line of apps to make its way onto the Play Store for ‘easy updating.’ To celebrate the launch, Motorola has decided to give the app a little makeover, with a new light color palette and a slide-in hamburger menu mounted on the left-hand side of the screen.

Using Migrate, users can transfer all of their contacts and calendar entries from their old iPhone to a new Motorola handset in just a few simple steps. It all happens without wires, and it’s completely free.

Starting today, you can finally order Motorola’s flagship smartphone, the Moto X, with some great new wooden finishes from the company’s MotoMaker website. For an additional $25 on top of the usual price tag, customers can choose for Moto to attach either an ebony, walnut or teak backplate.

Yesterday, AT&T suspended its upfront payments until January 31, on two smartphones, the LG G2 and the Motorola Moto X, when taken out on any new two-year contract, effectively shaving a whopping $100 off the usual price for 14 days.

The customizable Moto X will soon be available with backs made from three new types of wood. Shoppers using Motorola’s Moto Maker website will be able to pick from ebony, walnut and teak starting Jan. 21, and the natural options will add just $25 to the cost of the phone.
