Both the first- and second-generation Nexus 7s and the Nexus 10 are to get an Android 5.0 Lollipop update on November 3 — the same day the software debuts on the new Nexus 9 — according to sources familiar with Google’s plans. The search giant appears to be focusing on Wi-Fi only devices first, before bringing Lollipop to the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 5.

Google has long been telling us its Nexus smartphones will take great pictures, but even with the many camera improvements it brought to the Nexus 5, we’re yet to see it deliver on that promise. If you’ve got a Nexus 4 or 2012’s Nexus 7, there’s no need to worry about upgrading your hardware to get Android 5.0 Lollipop. Google has confirmed that both of these devices will be receiving its latest software update, along with the Nexus 5, last year’s Nexus 7, and the Nexus 10.

We’ve been hearing for some time that Google will show of its new Nexus 9 tablet this month, but a launch date for its next-generation Nexus smartphone has remained a mystery. Now a number of sources familiar with the search giant’s plans say you’ll be able to buy a Nexus 6 before the end of October.

A leaked image purportedly showing off the back of the upcoming HTC Nexus 9 for the first time has been published on Twitter. The device carriers the familiar Nexus styling with what appears to be a soft touch, matte plastic finish, the Nexus brand etched into its casing, and a large rear-facing camera lens.
