If you’re the proud owner of a new Nexus 7, or you intend to pick one up as soon as it goes on sale where you live, then you might be interested in the official Asus Nexus 7 Premium Cover, which has just started popping up on Amazon.

The Premium Cover combines a hard plastic shell with a soft, flexible cover to provide your new tablet with all-over protection. The cover folds up into a stand when your tablet is in use, and when it’s closed its microfiber lining will keep your display clean.

Google hasn’t begun selling the new 4G LTE Nexus 7 yet — it hasn’t even confirmed when it will be selling it — but it appears Asus may have shipped some units accidentally in China. One man was delighted to find that the 32GB Wi-Fi only model he ordered was actually a 32GB 4G LTE model when he pulled it out of the box.

Almost half of the top 50 apps on iPad are unavailable or have not been optimized for competing devices that run Google’s Android operating system. That’s according to a new report from Canalys, which believes Google should be doing more to encourage top developers to build high-quality tablet apps for its platform.

Google’s new Nexus 7 launched in the U.S. on July 30, and as of today – only a little over two weeks later – it’s available to purchase in Canada directly from the Play Store.

The new Nexus 7 has quickly become the hottest Android-powered tablet available, combining high-end specifications with a very attractive price tag. But the super slate hasn’t been without its fair share of problems since it went on sale late last month. In addition to a pesky GPS issue, it appears the device’s 1080p display doesn’t like multitouch input.
