HTC has promised Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrades for its One M8 and last year’s One M7 “within 90 days of receiving the final software from Google.” The Taiwanese company had already confirmed upgrades for both of these devices, and now we know they could be here before the end of the year.

HTC is already rolling out its new EYE Experience app in Europe, just two days after it was unveiled alongside the Desire EYE handset at an event in New York City. The update, which is baked into Android 4.4.4 KitKat, is currently being made available to One M8 handsets in Europe.

MultiROM, the tool that allows users to install more than one custom ROM on compatible smartphones, now supports the HTC One M8. Users are able to switch between different ROMs as and when they wish, without having to manually flash each one every time.

A leaked poster published on Chinese social network Weibo has allegedly revealed the upcoming HTC One M8 EYE ahead of its official unveiling. The device looks identical to the original One M8, seemingly confirming that the only differences between the two will be internal. Rumor has it they will all be focused on its front- and rear-facing cameras.
