OnePlus has finally confirmed the date of its next smartphone unveiling, and it’s going to be unlike any other product launch you’ve ever seen. On July 27 at 7 p.m. PT, the Chinese company will unveil the much-anticipated OnePlus 2 in virtual reality.

Yes, we’re getting excited about a cable.

Why? Because it’s likely to be the first USB-C cable that ships with an Android-powered smartphone — the upcoming OnePlus 2. It’s also very similar to the OnePlus One’s cable, which boasts an excellent, tangle-free design.

OnePlus has confirmed that its upcoming OnePlus 2 will be one of the first Android-powered smartphones with a USB Type-C connector. The move could mean that the 2 also comes with Google’s next-generation Android M operating system pre-installed.

Following months of speculation surrounding the OnePlus 2, OnePlus has today addressed the rumors with a post on its official forum entitled “We are mad.”

In it, the company talks about its decision to use a Snapdragon 810 processor — despite overheating concerns — and confirms that “the price of the 2 will certainly be higher than $322.”
