This new Android-powered ZX2 Walkman is for serious audiophiles only. Sony’s pushing the device as a high-resolution sound machine, and it’s set a price to match.

Cult_of_Mac_CES_2015$1,119.99 seems a bit much for a portable music player, but I really can’t seem to stop wanting one. The design is gorgeous, with a black matte finish and glorious actual buttons that just beg me to touch it.

If you’ve got a device from Sony’s newest Xperia Z3 family, your wait for an Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade is almost over. Sony has confirmed it will be bringing Google’s latest software to the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, and the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact starting next month.

Even long-time SmartWatch fans were disappointed with the design of Sony’s latest wearable, which was made almost entirely out of silicone when it made its debut back in September. But Sony is fixing that with a new SmartWatch 3 variant made out of stainless steel — and it looks great.

By swapping the tacky plastic for a more premium bracelet and chassis, Sony has turned what was once one of the ugliest Android Wear watches on the market into one of the prettiest. The original model will continue to be available, but those who are willing to spend more can opt for the much-improved design.

While most smartphone makers work to make it as difficult as possible to unlock their bootloaders, Sony is one of a small few that almost encourages it. The Japanese company is so supportive of the modding community, in fact, that it has just published a how-to video that walks users through the unlocking process on Xperia smartphones and tablets.

Under the sea, under the sea. Darling it’s better down where it’s wetter, take it from me. Up on the shore they work all day, out in the sun they slave away, while Sony is here to sell you Xperias under the sea.

That’s right — the Japanese company has opened up a store four meters under the sea in Dubai where it’s showing off its latest water-resistant smartphones. It’s called the Xperia Aquatech, and it could well be the only store in the world that requires shoppers to undertake scuba diving training before they can enter.
